Board of Supervisors, Fresno County EDC announce award of HUB Grant funds to local small businesses
The Fresno County Board of Supervisors and Fresno County Economic Development Corporation (EDC) joined today to announce the award of grant funds to 1,000 Fresno County small businesses impacted by COVID-19 shutdowns. The awards are thanks to the $5 million-dollar “Helping Underserved Businesses (HUB)” grant program, recently launched by Fresno County and EDC to assist local small businesses with expenses as they begin their reopening and recovery. Television production brings “Karma” to Fresno County
Shaver Lake region hosts 1st season of new outdoor adventure competition series
On Thursday, June 18, Karma, a new adventure competition series, will begin airing on HBO Max. This new series, filmed entirely in the Shaver Lake area, takes sixteen contestants, ranging in age from 12-15, completely off the grid, away from parents and the formal comforts of home. Eight teams of two will be tested for mental and physical stamina as they unravel how the lessons of their past and the actions of their present impact their future in the game. Fruit Trail Stands and Farmers Markets remain open as essential businesses
The 2020 Fresno County Fruit Trail is now underway. While COVID-19 has required some adjustments, Fresno County Agriculture is essential and Fruit Trail Stands and Stores are open and employing healthy market practices allowing customers to buy fresh picked produce direct from the farm. Fresno County COVID-19 Contact Tracing
The Fresno County Department of Public Health (FCDPH) would like to inform the public that the department is currently expanding contact tracing in Fresno County. In the coming days, the public may be contacted by a contact tracer via phone or text if they have been identified as a “close contact” of a positive COVID-19 case. Fresno County among counties approved by the State for reopening of barbershops and hair salons

The State of California has announced that Fresno County is among the Counties approved to allow for the modified reopening of barbershops and hair salons as the County moves further into Stage 2 of COVID-19 recovery. Those businesses looking to reopen will do so with appropriate measures in place to protect the health and safety of employees and customers in a continued effort to help mitigate the spread of COVID-19.
